Meaningful Rhythms: Lacto-Fermented Veggies
Fri, May 11 from 6pm - 8pm
Fermented Veggies are both a new and an old tradition. They are becoming increasingly ubiquitous. Why? They are healthy, economical, practical and, most importantly, tasty. Delving into a fermenting practice requires a bit of courage, an adventurous spirit and finding a sense of rhythm in one’s life. Fermentation illuminates the natural rhythm of the seasons and our own lives. When we identify and work towards building rhythms in our life, we can more deeply identify with the meanings of our actions and our relationships.
This workshop will continue to explore the Ordinary Adventure narrative; we will explore the meaning to be found in everyday activities and the struggles and obstacles to maintaining these activities. Participants will learn the basics of lacto-fermentation of vegetables and make a small jar of fermented veggies to take home. Tasty fermented vegetables will be offered for snacking, alongside fresh sourdough breads.
